LE GRAND MACABRE

Project made within the framework of a semester with guest prof. Dirk Thiele at the UdK Berlin, 2018. 

The theme of the semester was the destruction of the theatre, in the sense that our professor wanted us to work on the space of theatres that were  - or soon to be - destroyed, in an attempt to keep alive the memory of a stage or a place that doesn't exist anymore. 

The assignment was by consequence to create the concept of a piece that could never exist.

I chose to enact Michel de Ghelderode's Le Grand Macabre in Victor Horta's now gone Maison du Peuple of Brussels.
